Box Score The Bridgewater volleyball team dropped three straight to the
Maroons of Roanoke College on Tuesday evening. The Eagles are
now 9-10 overall, 1-4 in the ODAC. Roanoke improved to 14-3,
5-1 in the ODAC.
In the first game, BC held an 18-14 lead before Roanoke started
their rally. The Eagles lead 22-19 but were outscored 2-7
down the final stretch for a 24-26 loss.
The Eagles jumped out to an early 6-2 lead in the second game
but again, Roanoke rallied. The teams traded
points until Roanoke took a five-point lead, 23-18 and went on
to win 21-25.
The Maroons carried their momentum in the third game for a 17-25
win.
The Eagles were led in kills by Katie Baker
(Strasburg, VA/Strasburg) and Katie Long
(Floyd, VA/Floyd Co.) with eight each. Sophomore Mara Hogan
(Bridgewater, VA/Turner Ashby) had 12 digs on the evening, while
freshman Lindsay
Kallam (Virginia Beach, VA/Princess Anne) had 26 assists.
Bridgewater travels to the Lebanon Valley College tournament
this weekend.
