Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. - Bridgewater College slipped
past Frostburg State in five games Friday night at the Lebanon
Valley Volleyball Invitational.
The Eagles jumped on top with a close 25-23 victory in the first
game, but the Bobcats evened the score with a 25-16 win in Game 2.
Bridgewater regained the upper hand with a 25-22 margin in Game 3,
but once again Frostburg State came through with the equalizer,
winning Game 4, 25-17. The Eagles then took the match, winnng the
deciding fifth game, 15-12.
The victory avenged a loss earlier this season when the Bobcats
defeated the Eagles in four games at the BC Invitational.
Candice
Guy (Fishersville, Va./Wilson Memorial) led the Eagles with 18
kills and Lindsay
Kallam (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) added 55 assists. Mara Hogan
(Bridgewater, Va./Turner Ashby) contributed 26 digs.
"This was our most complete match to date," Bridgewater head
coach Greg Spector said. "We played hard from the first serve to
the last. The team is coming together and we are beginning to show
signs of how good we will be in November.
"On the evening of Coach Heishman's induction into the
Brridgewater Hall of Fame, I can think of no better present for her
than to play great volleyball and bring home a win."
