Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. - Southern Virginia pulled away down the stretch Friday night to defeat Bridgewater College, 67-54, on the first night of the Eastern Mennonite University Classic.
The Eagles overcame a slow start to lead by one at the break on a Justin Brake layup just before the halftime break.

Cody Griffith led the Eagles with 11 points while Rick Maloney just missed his second straight double-double as he finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Lack of rebounding and a poor shooting night were too much for Bridgeater to overcome. The Knights held a 46-31 edge on the boards while Bridgewater shot just 35.8 percent from the floor (19-for-53), 20 percent from 3-point range (5-for-25) and 57.9 percent from the foul line (11-for-19).
