ROANOKE, Va. - The Bridgewater College volleyball team opened its season Wednesday evening with a victory over Hollins in four games. The Eagles won 25-14, 22-25, 25-20, 25-16.

First-year player Katie Long (Floyd, Va./Floyd County) paced the Eagles with 14 kills and sophomore Cadie Castle (Mineral, Va./Louisa County) added 10. 

Casey O'Leary (Quinton, Va./New Kent) paced the team in digs with 14 and Kai-Lynn Stoker (Potomac, Md./Jack Britt) chipped in with 11. Lindsay Kallam (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) and Ashleigh Foor (Amherst, Va./Amherst) shared the setting duties with Kallam recording 19 assists and Foor finishing with 16.

Katie Baker (Strasburg, Va./Strasburg) contributed four service aces for the Eagles.

Bridgewater is back in action this weekend at the Averett Cougar Classic in Danville, Va.
