Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. - Bridgewater College
traveled to Harrisonburg on Wednesday evening to square off with
Eastern Mennonite and the rival squads battled to a 2-2 tie in
front of a large crowd on the EMU campus.
The Eagles erased a pair of deficits during the contest to force
overtime play.
The Royals scored early in the game off a well-executed corner
with Muoka Musau scoring to give EMU a 1-0 lead.
EMU led at the half 1-0, but the Eagles knotted the score early
in the second half on a Shane O'Donnell
(Waynesboro, Va./Waynesboro) goal.
It took only two minutes for the Royals to regain the upper hand
as a Mitchell Leap goal gave the hosts a 2-1 advantage.
The Royals maintained the lead until the 80th minute when
Bridgewater's Ryan Morgan
(Tappahannock, Va./Essex) punched a shot into the back of the net
to tie the score at 2-2.
EMU took the only shot of the first extra session and the Eagles
held a 5-2 edge in shots in the final overtime, but neither team
could score the deciding goal.
The Royals held a slim 25-24 advantage in shots. Bridgewater
goalkeeper Travis Morris
(Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished the contest with six
saves.
Bridgewater is now 2-5-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the ODAC. EMU
drops to 1-7-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the conference.
