Box Score ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Sophomore Megan Gould put a shot past the St. Mary's (Md.) keeper in the 25th minute to put the Bridgewater Eagles field hockey team on the board and it proved to be all the Eagles would need in a 1-0 victory on the road against the Seahawks.
Gould's unassisted tally was her team-leading sixth goal of the year.
Bridgewater controlled the opening half before the two teams turned in an even final 35 minutes of play. The Eagles outshot the Seahawks by an 11-to-3 tally and posted a 13-to-0 advantage in corners.
Junior Kelly Ryan and fellow junior Joan Burleson led the Eagles on the afternoon with three shots each.
Senior goalkeeper Taylor Waddell turned away just one St. Mary's (Md.) shot along the way to earn her fifth victory of the year.
Bridgewater is back in action on Thursday when Wilson comes to town. Action from Mapp Field is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start.
