AVERETT, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team extended its winning streak to six straight matches after blanking non-conference foe Averett by a 9-0 tally on the road.
In doubles action, Bridgewater controlled things from the get-go, taking all three matches, by 8-5, 8-1 and 8-0 scores.
The freshman duo of Katie Gordon and Katy Bergey picked up an 8-5 score in top flight doubles to earn the tandem's sixth straight win of the Spring.
Gordon then claimed a 6-3, 6-2 win at number one, before Bergey took home a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at number two.
Junior Ally McConaughy picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at number three prior to Morgan McGhee's 6-1, 6-2 victory at number four.
Finally, Brittany Wilson and Amanda Gorby picked up identical 6-0, 6-0 wins at number five and six to finish off the sweep of Averett.
Bridgewater is back in action on Tuesday, March 22 when the Eagles host Southern Virginia.
