LYNCHBURG, Va. - Against Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Randolph, the Bridgewater Eagles pushed their winning streak to 10 matches and earned their third shutout win of the year with a 9-0 victory over the host WildCats.
The freshman duo of Katy Bergey and Katie Gordon opened up doubles play with an 8-2 win before Ally McConaughy and Emily Schweitzer earned an easy 8-0 win at number two. Freshman Brittany Wilson and sophomore Olivia Stone won at number three by default.
At top flight singles, Gordon was a 6-4, 6-2 winner in the tightest singles matchup of the day.
Bergey claimed a 6-0, 6-1 win at number two to notch her 10th victory of the Spring before McConaughy picked up an easy 6-1, 6-1 win at number three.
Bridgewater was victorious by 6-0, 6-0 tallies in the final three singles matches with Wilson, Amanda Gorby and Stone earning wins for the Eagles. Wilson's victory was her 11th in a row, while Gorby joined Wilson and Bergey in the double-digit wins club with her 10th triumph of the year.
The win pushed Bridgewater's win streak to 10 matches in a row.
Bridgewater, now 11-2 overall and 6-1 in conference play, is back in action on Friday, April 8 when the team travels to ODAC foe Roanoke.
