BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Freshman Anna Theisen (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) found the back of the net with less than eight minutes remaining to play Sunday for the game-winning goal in Bridgewater's 3-2 victory over Marymount University on the final day of the Bridgewater Invitational.

With the victory, the Eagles improve to 2-0 on the season while Marymount drops to 2-1.

The Eagles scored early and then took a 2-0 and appeared on their way to a comfortable win.

Mari Marotta (Clifton, Va./Centreville) put the Eagles on the board in the fifth minute of action when she scored off an assist from Melanie Waters (Pasedena, Md./Chesapeake Senior), giving the hosts a 1-0 lead.

Helen Feeser (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) scored on an unassisted goal at the 25:07 mark and the Eagles were in control, 2-0.

Marymount punched in a goal late in the half when Lauren Sanders scored to cut the Bridgewater lead to 2-1 at the half.

Stephanie Flood scored the equalizer for the Saints in the 68th minute but the Eagles kept their composure and put the pressure back on the Marymount defense.

Marymount keeper Victoria Wyand was up to the task as she turned away two shots from close range while another Eagles attempt bounced off the crossbar.

The persistent pressure finally paid off when Theisen scored off of Waters' second assist of the game for what proved to be the game-winning goal.

The Eagles return to action Wednesday when they host Hood in a 5:00 p.m. start.
