VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Brian Cornell scored two first-half goals to give Virginia Wesleyan the lead and the Marlins went on to blank the Bridgewater College Eagles, 5-0, Wednesday evening in ODAC soccer action.

The Marlins outshot the Eagles by a 29-13 margin, including a 12-4 edge in the first half.

Josh Kemp added a goal early in the second half to put the Marlins on top 3-0 and Travis Walke added a pair of late goals to complete the scoring.

The Eagles fall to 5-2 in the conference and 9-4 overall. The Marlins are 5-7-1 overall and a game back of the Eagles in the ODAC with a 4-3 record.

Bridgewater returns to action Saturday when the Eagles travel to Hampden-Sydney.
