Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Katie Long totaled 10 kills for the Bridgewater College volleyball team on Saturday afternoon, leading the Eagles to a 3-0 victory over Guilford College in Nininger Hall.
Bridgewater advances to a record of 4-6, 2-1 ODAC and Guilford drops to 3-8, 1-1 ODAC.
Megann Grimes was not far behind Long with nine kills and three blocks for the Eagles. Bethany Doman recorded eight kills, six digs and five service aces.
Two players topped the Eagles in assists as Kylie Graham and Lindsay Kallam tallied 18 and 13 assists, respectively. Graham also tallied nine digs.
Libero Casey O'Leary led the Eagles with 15 digs and also added two service aces.
A trio of Quakers each notched nine kills each, while Brooke Herr recorded 13 digs for Guilford.
Guilford scored the first point of the afternoon, and the score was tied at 11-11 until, a huge kill from Long put the Eagles into gear and propelled Bridgewater to a 25-19 victory.
The second set was close until two kills by Cadie Castle and an error by the Quakers made the score 20-15. The Eagles took the 25-21 victory with a block by Grimes and freshman Kristen Trice.
Bridgewater swept Guilford in the final set with a score of 25-17 after a six-point run.
The Eagles host the Maroons of Roanoke on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
