Box Score ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Bridgewater's Zach Hosler scored with just nine seconds left in regulation Saturday afternoon to lift the Eagles to a 2-1 victory over St. Mary's at the Seahawk Classic.
The Eagles scored both of their goals in the final 22 minutes to erase a 1-0 advantage held by the host team.
St. Mary's struck early as a goal by Nathan Braun in the eighth minute put the Seahawks on top, 1-0.
Bridgewater kept pressure on the Seahawks throughout the first half, but St. Mary's goalie Austin Brown recorded saves on seven of BC's eight shots to preserve the 1-0 lead at the break.
The Seahawks held on to the 1-0 lead until the 78th minute. That's when the Eagles finally broke through as Kevin Gorman scored off an assist from Sawyer Janes to tie the score at one goal apiece.
The game seemed destined for overtime, but the Eagles came up with one final opportunity in the closing seconds. The Eagles had a corner kick with the clock winding down and Hosler found the net off Patrick Thornton's corner to lift the Eagles to the 2-1 victory.
The Eagles held a slim 18-16 edge in shots and a 9-5 advantage in corners.
BC goalie TJ Martin earned his second win, finishing the contest with seven saves.
The Eagles, now 2-1, return to action Sunday afternoon at the Seahawk Classic when they meet Salisbury University.
