HILTON HEAD, S. C. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team capped off a perfect week during its spring break trip with an 8-1 victory Friday over Olivet.
The Eagles won all five of their matches this week at Hilton Head.
Bridgewater's Katie Gordon and Miranda Donovan took an 8-5 victory over Caitlin LaValley and Jennifer Lightner at No. 1 doubles. At the second double slot, Olivia Stone and Jessie Mitchell rolled to an 8-1 victory over Olivet's Devan Thomas and Lucy McNally. Rita Murphy and Jamee Hardison completed the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win over Courtney Kidder and Katie Dobis.
Gordon rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win over LaValley at No. 1 singles and Stone defeated Lightner at No. 2.
Mitchell held off Kidder 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3 and Donovan stopped Thomas 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4. At the No. 5 slot Murphy edged McNally 7-6, 6-4.
Olivet picked up its lone point when Heather Kennedy defeated Meghan O'Keeffe 6-0, 6-2.
