Box Score ST. MARY'S, Md. – Bridgewater College scored two goals in the first 18 minutes Saturday afternoon and never trailed in a 4-1 men's soccer victory over St. Mary's College at the Seahawks Classic.
The Eagles took the lead in the 16th minute when Sawyer Janes scored from the right side after the Seahawks keeper had punched the ball away from the goal.
Less than two minutes later the Eagles tallied again when Ethan McBryde dribbled in and placed a shot into the lower left corner of the goal for a 2-0 Bridgewater lead.
The Eagles made it 3-0 early in the second half. McBryde put a pass into the box and Adam Weisenborn chipped his shot over the keeper to score the goal.
After Chris Adams scored for the Seahawks, the Eagles closed out the scoring in the 88th minute when Alec Utter took a crossing pass from Max Chacon and found the back of the net for the final 4-1 margin of victory.
The Eagles held a 24-11 edge in shots while the Seahawks managed a slim 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Bridgewater goalkeeper Mark Davis finished the contest with four saves.
The Eagles, now 2-1 on the season, return to action Sunday afternoon when they play Salisbury University.
