LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team won its 10th straight match with a 9-0 victory Tuesday afternoon over Lynchburg College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.

The Eagles lost just six games in sweeping the three doubles matches.

Katie Gordon and Maria Hawkins took an 8-2 victory over Melissa Drinkard and Betsy Stipa at No. 1 doubles. Marla O'Bryan and Jessie Mitchell rolled to an 8-1 victory over Carter Vaughn and Kelsey Krisik at No. 2. Leanne Smithers and Jamee Hardison finished off the sweep with an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles over Hailey Bettencourt and Madison Dixon.

Bridgewater swept the six singles matches, losing a total of just 12 games in the process.

Gordon defeated Drinkard 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Hawkins followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Stipa at No. 2.

O'Bryan rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 over Vaughn while Mitchell turned back Dixon 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4.

Holly Knupp downed Krisik 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 5 singles flight while Whitney Cash stopped Bettencourt 6-2, 6-1 at No.6.

The Eagles are now 10-2 overall and 6-1 in the ODAC.
