Box Score READING, Pa. - St. Mary's College scored two second-half goals to erase a 1-0 deficit Sunday evening as the Seahawks rallied for a 2-1 victory over Bridgewater College in the title game of the Crusader Cup women's soccer tournament hosted by Alvernia University.
Bridgewater took the lead with a goal in the 32nd minute of play. Anna Theisen took a through ball from Michelle Viegas to score for the Eagles, making the score 1-0.
The Seahawks took only two shots in the second half, but both found the mark. Both goals came off corner kicks. The first came in the opening two minutes of the second half when the Eagles failed to clear the corner kick out of the box and Christy Ims booted the ball past keeper Hayley Talbott, tying the score at 1-1.
The score remained tied until the 76th minute when St. Mary's took advantage of another corner kick as Lexi McCarty took the corner out of the air and headed the ball into the net for a 2-1 lead.
Bridgewater controlled play in the contest as the Eagles held a 15-2 edge in shots and a 7-4 margin in corner kicks.
Elizabeth Stump, Keri Rager and Ashley Crossman were named to the all-tournament team.
Bridgewater is back in action Wednesday for the team's home opener against Averett.
