Box Score SALEM, Va. - The 2015 men's soccer season came to end Tuesday evening for Bridgewater College as the Eagles lost to Roanoke College, 3-0, in the quarterfinals of the ODAC tournament.
The Eagles held the Maroons scoreless for the first 60 minutes, but Fortune Sibanda found an opening and hit a shot into the right side of the goal in the 61st minute for a 1-0 Roanoke lead.
Bridgewater stayed within a single goal until Tyler Carbaugh found the back of the net in the 78th minute, giving Roanoke a 2-0 advantage.
The Maroons scored the final goal with just over a minute left when Cole Thornton converted an open look from 12 yards out, making the final score 3-0.
Roanoke held a 20-4 advantage in shot attempts and a 6-1 edge in corner kick opportunities.
Logan McGlynn was credited with Bridgewater's lone shot on goal. Eagles keeper Mark Davis finished the contest with seven saves.
Roanoke advances to the conference semifinals where the Maroons will play Randolph College on Saturday at Washington and Lee University.
Bridgewater closes out its season with an 8-9-1 overall record.
