GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team controlled play Sunday afternoon and blanked Guilford College 9-0 in ODAC action.
Bridgewater jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the conclusion of doubles play.
Maria Hawkins and Marla O'Bryan tokn an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles over Guilford's Haley Andrews and Allison Hewitt.
At No. 2, Shannon Quinn and Ashley Price held off the Quakers duo of Nora Prokosch and Fernanda Gonzalez 8-5.
BC's Whitney Cash and Haley Lloyd rolled to an 8-2 victory over Mara Stern and Luci Gordon at No. 3 doubles.
The Eagles swept the six singles matches, all in straight sets.
Hawkins defeated Andrews 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while O'Bryan turned back Hewitt 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2.
Quinn defeated Gonzalez 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 3 slot and Price stopped Prokosch 6-3, 7-5 at No. 4 singles.
Cash blanked Stern 6-0, 6-0 to win at No. 5 and Lloyd completed the sweep with a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 6.
The Eagles are 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
