WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Junior Jake Norby had Bridgewater's low score for the first time in his career, as the Eagles opened play at the 2016 VSGA State Intercollegiate.
On a beautiful, sunny day at Williamsburg Country Club, the Eagles shot 314 as a team to sit in sixth place, six strokes back of fifth.
Norby carded a 77 and is tied for 15th place overall.
Luke Hill continued his strong fall with a 78, one stroke ahead of fellow junior Ocean Armstrong (79). Armstrong broke a streak of three straight 75s coming into the day.
Jeremy Pannebaker and Eugene Dillon each shot 80 as the entire Bridgewater team was separated by just three strokes.
Christopher Newport opened up a big lead in the team standings with a 289, while Ferrum (298) is second overall.
The Eagles will tee off tomorrow at 10 a.m. for the final round of their fall season.
