Eagles Improve on Day 2 at Royal Lakes

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - The Bridgewater College men's golf team improved by five strokes on the final day of the Royal Lakes Invitational in Georgia.

Bridgewater shot 312 on Tuesday and moved up with conference rival Virginia Wesleyan into a tie 17th place as a team.

Ocean Armstrong played a strong final nine holes to card Bridgewater's best score on Tuesday (75) and overall (154). 

After a double-bogey on #18 sent him to the turn at +4 (the Eagles started on hole 10), Armstrong was 1-under par the rest of the way including a birdie on the par-4 ninth.

Luke Hill shot 78 to finish one stroke behind Armstrong overall.

He had an up and down round with birdies on #1, #3, #6 and #18, but also two double-bogeys and a triple-bogey to start the round. He was even-par over his final 10 holes of the day.

Eugene Dillon started off his round with a birdie, finishing with an 83 and a two-day total of 162.

One stroke behind Dillon was Jeremy Pannebaker, who rebounded from a tough opening round with a a strong 76 on Tuesday. Pannebaker made par on his final nine plays.

Jake Norby shot 85, including six pars on his first nine holes.
