ASHLAND, Va. – The Bridgewater College volleyball team saw one of its most decorated seasons in recent program history come to an end following a 3-0 (18-25, 15-15, 16-25 ) semifinals lost to No. 1 seed Randolph-Macon on Friday afternoon in the Crenshaw Gym.

Bridgewater concludes the season with a 21-10 overall record.

Senior Abby Mills finished her final match as an Eagle with 12 kills on 33 attempts (.303) and 12 digs. The Fairfax, Va., native recorded another career milestone by reaching 1,001 total digs, which ranks ninth in the individual career record books.

Mills also closed out her successful career with 1,066 kills to climb to sixth on the program's all-time list.

Junior Macon Frey recorded a match-high 13 digs, sophomore Victoria Wilson dug up seven attacks and freshman Taylor McNeely chipped in six more. Frey was just four shy of collecting her 1,000th career dig with 996.

Setters Jenna Hamra and Rachael Girard combined for 23 total assists.

The Eagles' 2016 accomplishments include ranking as high No. 7 in the South Region, 20-plus wins, an eight-match winning streak, 15 shutout victories and hosting an ODAC quarterfinals contest.
