WINCHESTER, Va. - The Bridgewater College Eagles men's soccer team picked up a big ODAC victory Wednesday night by making the most out of their offensive opportunities to defeat Shenandoah, 4-1.
The Eagles got on the board first when Thomas White scored off an assist from Julian Ofori in the 30th minute. Bridgewater made it 2-0 late in the half when Marc Almeida scored his first goal of the season to put the Eagles on top 2-0.
Bridgewater gave up a goal in the closing seconds of the half when Nick Seymour scored to pull the Hornets to within a single goal, 2-1, at the break.
The Eagles answered early in the second half when Ofori scored off an assist from Leo Alcantara to once again put Bridgewater up by two goals, 3-1.
Bridgewater freshman Garrett Logan netted his first collegiate goal in the 61st minute to close out the scoring in the Eagles' 4-1 victory.
Shenandoah held a 19-12 edge in shots attempts and a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Bridgewater goalkeeper Quentin Boric came up huge as he recorded 11 saves - 10 in the final 45 minutes of action.
With the victory the Eagles improve to 6-7 overall and they move above the .500 mark in the conference with a 3-2 record.
Bridgewater is back in action Saturday evening when the Eagles make the long trek to Greensboro, N.C., to play Guilford College. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
