HILTON HEAD ISLAND,, S.C. - The Bridgewater women's tennis team lost a tough 5-4 decision Sunday to Baldwin Wallace University.
The Jackets took a 2-1 lead after doubles play.
The Eagles picked up a point at No. 3 doubles where Stephanie Barton and Whitney Cash blanked Kathleen Moser and Kelly Peskura 8-0.
Baldwin Wallace took an 8-2 win at No. 2 where Claire Watts and Emily Dahnert defeated Jamiah Lewis and Ashley Price .
The Yellow Jackets also claimed the point at No. 1 doubles when Imani Robinson and Liz Radkiewicz held off Whitney Kiser and Nicole Shiffeltt, 9-7.
Baldwin Wallace was able to gain a split in singles action to clinch the 5-4 win.
Lewis rolled to a win at No. 1 singles where she defeated Robinson in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
The Eagles also won the final two fights, Cash blanked Moser 6-0, 6-0 to win at No. 5 and Shannon Quinn edged Kayla Eng in three sets at No. 6. Quinn lost the first set 7-5, but bounced back to control the second set 6-0. A tiebreaker was played to determine the winner with Quinn winning by a 10-5 count.
The Yellow Jackets won matches at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles.
Watts and Kiser split the first two sets at No. 2 before Watts claimed the tiebreaker to win 1-6, 6-3 and 10-8 in the tiebreaker.
At No. 3 singles, Radkiewicz won a close match over Shifflett 6-4, 6-4 and Peskura stopped Barton 6-1, 6-3 to win at No. 4.
