SALEM, Va. – The Bridgewater women's tennis team ran its winning streak to six straight with a hard-fought 6-3 win Wednesday afternoon over Roanoke College.

The Eagles won two of the three doubles matches.

Jamiah Lewis and Shannon Quinn turned back Madeline Herring and Catherine Lee 8-3 to win at No. 2 while Stephanie Barton and Whitney Cash defeated Carolyn Kitsock and Emma Barker at No. 3 by a score of 8-4.

Roanoke picked up a point at No. 1 doubles when Emily Anderson and Colette Wibaut held off Whitney Kiser and Nicole Shifflett 8-4.

The Eagles moved closer to victory with wins at the first two singles flights. Lewis rolled past Henderson at No. 1, winning 6-2, 6-1 while Kiser turned back Wibaut 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 2 slot.

Cash closed out the match with a three-set win at No. 5 as she outlasted Herring 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.

Bridgewater picked up its final point at No. 6 where Quinn defeated Lydia Dey 6-3, 6-0.

Roanoke won a pair of close matches at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

Lee held off Shifflett in three sets at No. 3 singles 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 while Herring edged Barton 6-4, 7-5 to win at No. 4.
