ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Bridgewater College ran its winning streak to four straight with a 3-0 victory Saturday over N.C. Wesleyan. The shutout was the third in a row for the Eagles.

Bridgewater took the lead in the 15th minute. Isabella Krider sent a through ball ahead to Keri Rager who took one touch and then beat the keeper with her shot to put the Eagles on the board. The goal was the first of the season for Rager.

Less then two minutes later, the Eagles made it 2-0 off a corner kick opportunity. This time Rager got the assist as fellow senior Anna Sobus netted the goal, her second of the season.

Bridgewater put the game away with another goal off of a corner kick. Krider came up with her second aassist of the game as she put the corner kick into the box and KAtherine Wight headed the ball into the net for a 3-0 Eagles lead at the 64:52 mark. The goal was Wight's team-leading third goal of the season.

The Bishops then had a chance to get on the scoreboard, but Bridgewater goalkeeper Hayley Talbott came up with a big save to keep the score 3-0.

The Bishops had one last chance to avoid the shutout when they were awarded a penalty kick in the closing seconds. Reserve keeper Alyssa Pearson made the save on the PK, preserving Bridgewater's third straight win via shutout.

Bridgewater held a slim 12-11 edge in shots and each team finished the contest with three corner kicks.

Talbott played the first 80 minutes and recorded three saves while Pearson finished up in goal and registered one save.

The Eagles have a quick turnaround as they are back in action Sunday afternoon at Methodist.
