SALEM, Va. - Davonta Womack finished the 2018 ODAC Indoor Track Championships with three wins on the day and was named the ODAC Track Athlete of the Meet to lead Bridgewater to a second-place team finish.
The men finished with a total of 165.5 points, just four points behind first-place Washington and Lee who finished with 169.5 total points.
Womack had wins in the 60 meter dash, the 200 meter, as well as the long jump.
Womack finished the 60 meter with a time of 6.87. In the 200 meter, Womack earned the top spot with a time of 22.39.
Womack and Brandon Christian earned the top two spots in the long jump. Womack finished first with a mark of 6.89m (22' 71/4) and Brandon Christian finished second with a mark of 6.74m (22' 11/2). Chase Rosenthal finished seventh with a mark of 6.29m (20' 73/4).
Anthony Lovelace finished fourth in the 60 meter dash at 7.04 and Dirk Jones finished seventh with a time of 7.08.
Bridgewater had the 1, 3, 6, and 7 spots in the high jump. Ryan Shepard earned the win with a mark of 1.94m (6' 41/4). Rashon Davis was third at 1.91m (6' 31/4), Christian finished sixth at 1.86m (6' 11/4) and John Gieseler was seventh with a mark of 1.81m (5' 111/4).
Prescott Terrell won the weight throw with a throw of 15.24m (50' 01/4). Chris Wolfgang finished third with a toss of 13.70m (44' 113/4), and Corey Huffman was seventh with a mark of 12.91m (42' 41/2).
Huffman finished third in the shot put with a mark of 13.94m (45' 9"), while Terrell finished sixth with a mark of 12.69m (41' 8").
Christian and Rosenthal were fourth and fifth in the triple jump with marks of 13.52m (44' 41/4) and 13.42m (44' 01/2), respectively.
Jamie Hiegel had two big wins in the 5000 meter and the 3000 meter. He finished the 5000 meter with a time of 15:51.95. He crossed the line in the 3000 meter at 8:41.94, almost twenty seconds ahead of second place finisher, Hank Patrick from Washington and Lee, who finished with a time of 9:00.10.
Freshman Elijah Waters earned all-ODAC after he finished third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.50. Rosenthal finished fifth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.71.
Shane Gibson finished ninth for Bridgewater in the 1 mile run with a time of 4:42.64.
Alex Galloway earned a third place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 49.88 and Lovelace finished seventh with a time of 52.12. Galloway also finished fourth in the 200 meter with a time of 22.63.
Kenny Sullivan finished in the top-ten in the 800 meter with a time of 2:04.47 for sixth overall.
The Eagles finished fifth in the 4000 meter distance medley relay on a team of Denlinger, Mays, Moore, and Wilt with a time of 14:11.76.
The men ended the day with a second place finish in the 4x4 relay with a time of 3:24.52. The team consisted of Lovelace, Rosenthal, Galloway, and Womack.
