Eagles Miss Championship Cut By 11 Strokes

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Bridgewater couldn't take advantage enough on the shorter Scarlet Course on Saturday at the Marine Corps Intercollegiate, missing the championship field for tomorrow's final round.

In the opening two rounds, teams play once each on the longer Gold and shorter Scarlet courses. The top 15 teams play for the championship on Gold, while the bottom 15 play their third round on Scarlet.

Bridgewater followed up Friday's 318 with a 292, good for a two-day total of 610.

That put the Eagles in 21st place overall, missing the cut by 11 strokes. Averett and ODAC competitor Shenandoah grabbed the final two spots with scores of 599.

Luke Hill shot 74 to lead the Eagles with a two-day score of 150. BC's top finisher on Saturday was Ocean Armstrong, who carded a 71 and is one stroke back of Hill overall.

Jake Norby (73), Jeremy Pannebaker (74) and Jason Spaar (75) each had solid rounds on Saturday as well for Bridgewater.

Defending champion Methodist (565) leads the field by 10 strokes over Mary Washington.
