Box Score ROANOKE, Va. - The Bridgewater College volleyball team remains unbeaten in the ODAC after a 3-0 sweep of Hollins University on September 27.
The Eagles cruised to a 25-8 win in set one behind a 12-point service run from junior Madison Haynes. The run also featured half of Rachel Gaston's eight kills for the evening. The team hit a .571 in the set committing only three attack errors.
The second set followed the script of the first as the Eagles would claim a 25-12 victory on a Deja Booker kill.
Hollins woke up in the third set and pushed the Eagles until the final point. Bridgewater eventually won the set 25-23 on a Hollins service error to win the match.
Booker had a match high 10 kills followed by Gaston and Nadia Valle with eight each. Taylor McNeely also recorded a match high with ten digs, while Victoria Wilson orchestrated the offense with 37 assists. Haynes contributed three blocks as the team held Hollins to a -.038 hitting percentage for the evening.
The Eagles continue ODAC play with a tri-match on Saturday, September 29. Bridgewater will face Washington and Lee and Ferrum at Ferrum as they try to remain perfect in conference play.
