BLACKSBURG, Va. – The entire Bridgewater College men's golf team was within three strokes of each other at the final round of the VSGA State Intercollegiate.

Bridgewater tied with Shenandoah for seventh place at the longest state organization-run intercollegiate golf tournament in the country with matching 305s.

The Eagles were led on Tuesday by Jason Spaar, whose matching 75s put him in 24th place overall.

After bogeying his first two holes of the day, Spaar played the next nine at 1-under par, including a birdie on the par-5 13th.

Bridgewater's highest finisher was Ronald Uszenski, who shot 77 and tied for 22nd place overall after a 72 on Monday.

Uszenski also bogeyed his first hole before responding with a birdie on #13 to get back to even par at that point.

Alex Czerwinski finished strong on Tuesday with a 76 and tied for 40th place overall. He birdied #14 and #17 and was +1 through his first 10 holes.

Jacob Sears (77) edged Jacob Laughlin (78) in the final round, with Laughlin finishing one stroke ahead of Sears for the tournament. Sears had a pair of birdies in a stretch of five holes- on #16 and #2.

Playing as an individual, Brendan Draughn improved by one stroke to a 78 in the final round. He birdied two of three holes at one point- the par-3 3rd and par-5 5th.

Christopher Newport beat Lynchburg in a playoff to win the team championship.
