BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Marymount flipped the script on the Bridgewater College volleyball team, taking the final three sets to win 3-2 (18-25, 20-25, 25-15, 25-18, 15-7).

The Eagles got 16 kills and 12 digs from Rachel Gaston, with Emily Hanger adding 12 kills on .348 hitting. Grace Hayes had 41 assists and just missed a double-double with nine digs.

The Eagles controlled the opening two games and took a 2-0 lead, making just one attack error in the opening set. Bridgewater would make a combined 18 attack errors in sets 3 and 4 however, hitting under .060 in each to allow Marymount back into the match.

A Hanger kill gave the Eagles a 20-14 lead in a first set that they would go on to claim 25-18. She added a kill that made it 22-16 in another big BC run in the second game.

Marymount jumped out a 7-1 lead in the third, and 5-1 in the fourth however.

A Nadia Valle kill kept Bridgewater close at 7-4, and Madison Haynes and Hope Jennings soon combined for a block that maintained the three-point deficit. Marymount answered with another big run however to force a deciding fifth game.

After two early Saints attack errors, a Hanger kill gave the Eagles a 3-2 lead in the tiebreaker. The visitors responded with an 8-1 run to put the match away.

Marymount had four players with double-digit kills, led by Alexa Marcum (16 kills, .438, 7 digs).

Bridgewater wraps up the regular season with a record of 23-6. The Eagles will be the fourth seed in the ODAC playoffs and will host Washington & Lee on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for a quarterfinal match.
