Box Score ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Salisbury took control with three goals in the first half during an eight-minute stretch and the Seagulls led the rest of the way in a 4-1 victory over Bridgewater College at the Seahawks Classic.
The contest was scoreless until midway through the first half. Salisbury's Josh Woozley put the Gulls on the board for a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute.
The Seagulls added to the lead on a goal by Trent Hofmeister in the 32nd minute to go up 2-0. A minute later, Woozley scored his second goal of the day to put Salisbury out front 3-0.
Kevin Eriksen scored the final goal for the Seagulls in the 79th minute to push the margin to 4-0.
The Eagles avoided the shutout in the 84th minute when Sam Beckman scored his first goal of the season for the final 4-1 tally.
Salisbury held a 22-9 edge in total shots and an 8-3 margin in corner kicks.
Bridgewater (1-4) is back in action Wednesday when the Eagles host Mary Baldwin.
