BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's soccer team took Virginia Wesleyan to two overtimes on Saturday evening, but fell short losing 2-1.

 The Basics

• Final Score: Bridgewater – 1, Virginia Wesleyan – 2
• Records: Bridgewater (6-7-2, 2-4-2 ODAC), Virginia Wesleyan (11-2-4, 4-1-3 ODAC)

 How It Happened

• Bridgewater took a 1-0 lead in the 28^th minute when Eric Ramirez dialed up a strike inside the box on a rebounded shot off a defender to the lower right corner of the net.
• Virginia Wesleyan struck back just about five minutes later in the 32^nd minute to make it 1-1.
• The match would stay tied at 1-1 headed into the second overtime. In the 104^th minute Aria Kimiavi deposited the game winning goal for the Marlins.

 Match Notes

• An evenly matched affair, BC gave the Marlins everything they could handle. The Eagles had prime chances in overtime to convert and win the game but were unable to finish.
• The Marlins held an 18-13 shot advantage, and corner kicks were tied at four apiece.
• Charles Schweinefuss made four saves in net.  
• Matthew Shelor led the way with four shots.

• Bridgewater will hit the road Tuesday Oct. 26 to take on the Hornets of Lynchburg beginning at 7 p.m.
