LYNCHBURG, Va. - Bridgewater swept the doubles action Friday to take a 3-0 lead and the Eagles went on to defeat Randolph College 8-1 in ODAC women's tennis play.
The Eagles swept the three doubles matches, losing a total of just two games.
At No. 1 doubles, Bridgewater's Whitney Kiser and Malena Hoover defeated Zu Elkhansa and Bailey Livingston 8-2. Rachel Crawford and Ali Keister won at No. 2 doubles 8-0 and Ryan Roeber and Emily Daigneault won by the same score at No. 3 doubles.
Bridgewater put the match away by winning five of the six singles contests.
Roeber blanked Amanda Jagdeo 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 singles slot before Keister scored the clinching point with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Cassidy Bell at No. 5 singles.
Also winning for the Eagles in singles action were Kiser, Crawford and Hoover.
Kiser stopped Elkhansa 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 1 singles position. At No. 3, Crawford defeated Livingston 6-2, 6-0. Hoover blanked Jenna Fink 6-0, 6-0 for the win at No. 4.
