GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team ran its winning streak to eight in a row with a 7-2 victory Saturday afternoon over Guilford College.
Guilford took the win at No. 1 doubles, but the Eagles took the points at No. 2 and No. 3 for a 2-1 team lead.
Guilford's Madyson Schreiber and Hannah Pardue slipped past Whitney Kiser and Malena Hoover 8-6 to win at No. 1 doubles.
The Eagles won the other two doubles matches by identical 8-0 scores. Rachel Crawford and Ali Keister defeated Hannah Arnett and Bea Niybizi at No. 2 while Emily Daigneault and Ryan Roeber took the point at No. 3 doubles.
The Eagles closed out the victory with wins in five of the six singles flights.
Kiser outlasted Schreiber in three sets 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 to take the point at No. 1. Pardue picked up the lone singles point for Guilford with a win over Daigneault at the No. 2 slot.
At No. 3 singles, Crawford stopped Arnett 6-1, 6-2 and Hoover downed Nya Reed 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Keister took a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 over Jessica Fuentes and Roeber defeated Alys Parker 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 6 position.
