HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Eagles jumped out to a 4-1 lead to start off the first set before the Quakers went on a run to go ahead 7-6. GC got four of the next five to push the lead to 11-7 but a rally from the Eagles gave them the lead at 13-11. A point from the home side broke the rally but another four points put BC ahead 18-13. As the two teams alternated points, the Eagles held on for a 25-22 set win to go ahead 1-0.
  • Guilford captured each of the next two sets to go ahead 2-1. The Eagles were actually in the lead in the third set by a 24-20 count, but the Quakers registered six-straight points to earn a 26-24 set victory.
  • In the fourth set, neither side could gain a distinct advantage with no team garnering a relative lead. In the end, the Eagles held on to a 25-22 lead to force a fifth frame.
  • Guilford pulled ahead 4-3 after a three-point run to start the final frame, but BC responded with four straight of their own to go ahead 7-4. The Eagles hit eight points first as the two sides switched ends. Bridgewater grabbed six straight points to end the set and the game to walk away with another ODAC victory.
