BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- The Bridgewater College women's basketball team was slotted fifth in the 2022-23 ODAC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll, which was announced by the league office on Thursday.
Randolph-Macon picked up seven first-place votes and 136 points to top the coaches survey, while Randolph collected two first-place votes and 127 points for second. Washington and Lee earned three first-place tallies in third and Roanoke received the final first-place vote for fourth.
The Eagles received 89 points to sit in fifth place in a tie with Shenandoah. Lynchburg (87 points), Guilford (86), Ferrum (57) and Eastern Mennonite (39) rounded out the top 10 spotsÂ
Last season, the Eagles finished 11-15 with a 7-10 mark in league games. Bridgewater qualified for the ODAC Tournament and moved on to the quarterfinals before falling to Randolph-Macon.
In her first season as head coach of the Eagles,
Stephanie Flamini will coach her first game in the Crimson & Gold on Tuesday, November 8, in Nininger Hall against Mary Baldwin. Tip off is scheduled for 6 pm.
