Women's Tennis Celebrates Senior Day

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team fell to Shenandoah 5-4 on Senior Day in ODAC action.

Graduate student Rachel Crawford was recognized for her contributions to the women's tennis team before the match.

During doubles action the Eagles fell behind 1-2. The only win for the Eagles came at the No. 3 spot in a battle where senior Emily Daigneault and sophomore Ryan Roeber battled for a 8-7(3) victory.

The bottom half of the ladder proved to be the strength for the Eagles once again as there were wins by BC at the four, five and six spots.

Junior Emma Nesselrodt battled to a 7-5, 6-2 win at the No. 4 spot.

Roeber picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win at the No. 5 spot while freshman Grace Knighton picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win at the six slot.

The Eagles will be back in action on April 27 as the travel to Randolph in their final match of the regular season. Action is set for 3 p.m.
