Crawford Earns 50th Career Singles Win, Eagles Defeat Wildcats

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Rachel Crawford of Bridgewater College women's tennis earned her 50th career singles win as the team picked up a 6-3 win over Randolph in its final match of the regular season.

The Eagles opened up by taking two of the doubles points. Junior Emma Nesselrodt and freshman Grace Knighton teamed up for a 8-3 win at the No. 2 spot. Sophomore Ryan Roeber and senior Emily Daigneault teamed up for a 8-1 win at the No. 3 spot to put BC up 2-1.

In Singles action the bottom of the ladder proved to be the strength for BC. Despite dropping the top two singles matches, the Eagles swept three, four, five and six singles.

At the three spot graduate student Rachel Crawford picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win for her 50th career singles win. Roeber added a 6-3, 6-3 win at the No. 4 spot. Knighton picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at the five slot. Junior Kaci Pitsenbarger picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win to round out play.

The Eagles finish 9-6 on the season and 4-6 in ODAC play and will wait to see where they will be seeded in the ODAC tournament.
