SALEM, Va. - The Bridgewater College softball team fell to Randolph-Macon 5-2 in the ODAC Tournament, ending the Eagles' season.

• Final Score: No. 5 Bridgewater 2, No. 2 Randolph-Macon 5

How It Happened

• The Yellow Jackets added their first run of the day in the botton of the first frame as the Eagles struggled offensively, going three up three down in the first three innings. Randolph-Macon then piled on four runs in the bottom of the third to take a 5-0 lead
• Brooklynn Fridley posted the Eagles' first hit of the day on a double to right center field. After Fridley advanced to third on a wild pitch, the junior ran home on a Sarah Wimer sacrifice fly to cut the Randolph-Macon lead to four
• Torie Shifflett added the second double of the day for the Eagles in the top of sixth with a shot to left center field. Fridley earned an RBI on the next at-bat with a single to send Shifflett home. Needing three runs, Jazmyne Smith provided a spark with a single to start the seventh frame. Ultimately, the Eagles could not move Smith and fell 5-2 to end the season

Match Notes

• Fridley tied a game-high two hits with Shifflett and Smith making up the rest of Bridgewater's four hits. Randolph-Macon outhit Bridgewater 11-4
• Emma Killion pitched the first three innings, allowing seven hits and two earned runs. Brantley Swift pitched the final three frames, allowing four hits and no runs
