BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Bridgewater College Head Field Hockey Coach
Gina Stephan announced the addition of
Emily Bagby, '20 to her staff ahead of the 2022 season.
Bagby returns to the staff after serving as a volunteer assistant last year where she worked with the goalkeepers. No stranger to Bridgewater College, Bagby graduated from BC in 2020 with a degree in family and consumer science with concentrations in family life education and child development. She was a four-year member of the field hockey program and was the team's starting goalkeeper as a senior. Bagby ranks in the top five in program history in both save percentage and goals-against average garnering 20 starts across 32 appearances.
"We are so grateful to have Emily back with Bridgewater College Field Hockey," said Stephan. "Her vibrant energy, dedication, and passion for the team will make a positive impact on our culture that extends beyond the field. Emily's background in teaching and knowledge specific to goalkeeping is going to be a true asset where we are excited to learn with and from her this year. She's a dedicated alumna of the school and we're looking forward to advancing the program forward together."
Additionally, Bagby taught family and consumer sciences classes at nearby Harrisonburg High School for the past two academic years.
