BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Bridgewater College softball coach Megan Pleskovic anounced Jess Zavolta as the newest addition to her staff on Tuesday morning.

Prior to Bridgewater, Zavolta served as an assistant softball coach at her alma mater, Allegheny College, in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She assisted in all aspects of coaching the Gators from 2018-21. Zavolta also spent a year as the assistant field hockey coach at Allegheny, as well.

In addition, Zavolta spent time as a physical therapy technician at East Suburban Sports Medicine Center and spent parts of six years as a volunteer pitching and catching coach with Team Impact.

Zavolta is a 2018 graduate of Allegheny where she was a three-year team captain of the softball team. She was named first team All-NCAC once and garnered honorable mention laurels with the league on two occations. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in sport management from California University of Pennsylvania.
