HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first set started with Bridgewater getting off to an early 5-1 advantage following a kill from Reagan Stoop that was assisted by Ashley Rutherford. The Eagles did not stop there, Rachael Meyers kickstarted a run of six with a successful attack to go up 12-2. The BC defense held strong, allowing Hollins to score only seven points in the set. To close out the match Bridgewater tallied a 9-1 run, which was capped off with a Meyers kill, to take the set 25-7.
  • In the second set, the two teams traded points with HU holding a slight one point advantage of 5-4. However, that did last long with Stoop and Jillian Levin scoring on back to back kills to allow the Eagles to go on a 6-0 with the lead of 10-5. After the ensuing run from BC, the Green and Gold bounced back bringing the score within one 10-9. Brooklyn Williams helped Bridgewater get out to 19-9 lead scoring on three attacks during a run of nine. The Eagles ended the set in dominating fashion on defense allowing just one more HU point to take the 2-0 series lead.
  • The final set saw BC score lead 7-3 in the first 10 points of the match after a huge block from Faith DePew and Emerson Roper. Past the 10 point mark, Bridgewater ignited its offense once again going on an 8-1 run to take a 18-8 advantage. The Green and Gold tried to create a sustainable run, but DePew helped the Eagles clinch a 25-15 victory to take the match 3-0.
