FOREST, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's basketball team landed three student-athletes on the All-ODAC basketball squads, the Conference announced on Wednesday morning.
Jaden Alsberry and
Riley Corcoran secured a spot on the second team and
Erika Nettles grabbed third team honors.Â
A Strasburg, Va. native, Alsberry lands her second all-conference selection after earning a spot on the third team a season ago. The junior has totaled a pair of double-doubles on the year and leads the team with 9.9 points per game. Alsberry also ranks among the ODAC leaders in rebounds (12th), blocks (6th), field goal percentage (7th) and assists (16th).Â
Corcoran is one of four freshmen to earn All-ODAC honors this season. The Chapel Hill, N.C. native is the first Eagle to earn all-conference accolades since 2014 and ranks second on the squad with 9.6 points per contest. She racked up her first double-double in her first career game in the Crimson and Gold with 11 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Mary Baldwin. Corcoran ranks sixth in the conference in field goal percentage (49.4%) and is in the top-20 in steals with 38 on the year. She was named ODAC Player of the Week just two weeks ago.
Nettles was named to the third team for the second year in a row as the Pittsboro, N.C. native returned to the program for a fifth season and made her presence felt as she topped the conference in field goal percentage, shooting 58.8 percent from the floor. Nettles led the Eagles presence on the glass with seven rebounds per game, that mark was also good enough for seventh in the league.Â
It is the first time the Eagles have had a player earn consecutive All-ODACÂ honors since Aliha Moone was on the first team in 2019-2020 and 2021.
The Eagles head to Salem for the ODAC Women's Basketball Championships. BC earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament and open play against the No. 6 seed, Roanoke, on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 8 pm in the Salem Civic Center.Â
