BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College women's volleyball won in three sets in ODAC play over Roanoke at Nininger Hall Wednesday night.
The Basics
Score: Bridgewater (BCE) 3, Roanoke (ROA) 0
Records: BCE (16-4 Overall, 7-2 Conf.), ROA (11-7 Overall, 3-4 Conf.)
How It Happened
- The Eagles jumped out to a comfortable lead in the middle of the first set and never looked back. After the tie at 7-7, BCE pushed ahead, taking advantage of the attack errors from the Maroons. ROA's seven errors gave the Eagles all the momentum needed to cruise to a 25-16 first set.
- BCE continued its sharp play only allowing two errors to stand in its way. The Eagles buried 16 kills in the set including consecutive kills by Ashley Wise late in the second. More attack errors by the Maroons limited them to only 12 points in the set while the Eagles applied more pressure.
- In the third set, the Eagles once again took the lead early with an established attacking plan. Just as the second set went, BCE finished the set with 16 kills along with more defensive stops to end the final set, 25-17.
