Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Bridgewater College women's tennis team defeated Dubuque 7-2 on Wednesday.
The Eagles stepped ahead 2-1 after doubles action as
Emma Staton and
Raea Crabill cruised to an 8-2 victory at the No. 3 slot.
Emma Nesselrodt and
Jolexie Whetzel came from behind and grinded out a 8-7(1) victory at the top spot to give BC the lead.
Staton was first off the court in singles play after she worked a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the top spot. Crabill followed her doubles partner with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 6 slot. Nesselrodt faced some adversity as she fell behind in the second set before moving to a 6-0, 6-3 victory at the top spot. Whetzel and
Ryan Roeber each had tough first sets before putting up 6-0 score lines in the second to seal the victory for the Eagles at the No. 4 and No. 3 spots respectively.
BC is back in action on Friday as they take on Gordon College at 10 a.m.
