Box Score ASHLAND, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team fell to Randolph-Macon 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets swept the doubles action, but not without a fight at the No. 2 spot.
Ryan Roeber and
Emily Wylie battled before falling 5-8.
Emma Nesselrodt and Jolexie Wehtzel fell 1-8 at the top spot and
Raea Crabill and
Emma Staton fell by the same scoreline at No. 3.
There were battles all over the courts during singles action. Nesselrodt saw her sets decided by just a single service break each as she fell 4-6, 3-6 at the top spot. Roeber put up a good fight as well with a nail-biter of a first set falling 5-7, 2-6. Wyie fell 3-6, 0-6 at the No. 2 slot while Staton went down at the No. 5 slot by a 2-6, 3-6 scoreline. The two rookies gave it all they had as Whetzel fell 3-6, 0-6 at No. 2 and Crabill wrapped up the action wuith a 4-6, 0-6 loss at the No. 6 slot.
The Eagles are back at it on Thursday as they head south on 220 to Danville to take on Averett.
