TEMPE, Ariz. - Nine members of the Bridgewater men's and women's tennis programs have been ITA Scholar-Athletes, announced by the sport's governing body Wednesday afternoon.
To qualify, student-athletes must earn a 3.5 GPA or better over he calendar year and earn eligibility from the ITA based on participation.
Corey Beshoar,
Mark Gordon,
Matthew Leonard,
Nicholas Arnold and
Ryan Briggman earned the accolade on the men's side.
Emily Wylie,
Emma Nesselrodt,
Emma Staton and
Ryan Roeber earned the award on the women's team.
On top of the individual accolades, the women's team earned recognition as an ITA Scholar All-Academic Team after achieving a team GPA of a 3.2 or better for the past academic year.
The Eagles equaled their individual tally from a year ago while the women's team was named an ITA All-Academic Team for the third year in a row.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at all levels – NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College.
