FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's tennis team opened day one of the ITA SOutheast Championship at Mary Washington on Friday.
The impacts of Tropical Storm Helene were felt all over the commonwealth including washing out action in the B draws and the the consolation draws on day one.
BC had players in action in the championship draw starting in doubles action as
Matthew Leonard and
Corey Beshoar received a first round bye. The pairing fell in the Round of 32 to the duo of Barrett Foster/THomas Davis from Hampden-Sydney 8-1.
Leonard was not done facing the Tigers as he tangled with Foster again in the opening round of championship singles as he fell 8-0.
Mark Gordon competed in the championship singles draw as well and fell to Tudor Vlad from Virginia Wesleyan 8-0 in the opening round.
The championship draw consolation and B-Draw matches are slated to begin tomorrow morning.
