BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Bridgewater College Athletic Director Curt Kendall has announced the hiring of Tyler Carnahan as the college's next head men's and women's tennis coach.
Carnahan most recently served as the assistant coach for the Eagles' tennis programs for four seasons before being elevated to the head coaching role. Carnahan is no stranger to the local tennis community as he has also recently been the Director of Tennis at the Spotswood Country Club in Harrisonburg along with being an active member of the Harrisonburg Tennis Patrons.
"I am excited for the opportunity to lead the program, and look forward to what we will accomplish," said Carnahan
During his time as an assistant at BC, Carnahan has been a piece of 60 wins between both the men's and women's teams. The program also saw Canon Secord named a three-time ODAC Player of the Year during his time as an assistant.
"Tyler brings in a passion and knowledge of the game that will be necessary for us to succeed," said Kendall.
Carnahan is a 2022 graduate of EMU and is currently earning his master's degree from the Harrisonburg institution in Organizational Leadership.
