FOREST, Va. - Freshamn goalkeeper Erinn Lockard took home her third ODAC defensive player of the week award of the season, announced by league office Monday evening.
The Vienna, Va. native earned the final weekly honor after facing Randolph-Macon twice last week, once in regular season action, and once in the ODAC quarterfinals.
Lockard and the Eagles faced Randolph-Macon on the road Wednesday afternoon in a match that would decide who would receive home field advantage in the first round of the ODAC tournament. She made three saves in the shutout road win over the Yellow Jackets to ensure home field advantage.
The Eagles hosted the fifth-seeded Yellow Jackets on Saturday in the first round of the ODAC tournament. Despite conceding one goal, Lockard made seven saves to help propel BC past RMC.
A third defensive player of the week honor puts Lockard in uncharted territory, as no player in program history has earned the honor more than twice. In her freshman campaign, she is credited with 60 saves, the third most in the ODAC. She also has 7 shutout wins on the season, which is tied for the second most in program history. Lockard also boasts a .823 goals allowed average, good for the second best in the conference.
Lockard and the Eagles will face top-seeded Washington & Lee in the ODAC semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. The match will be streamed live on FloCollege.
